Won-Ldy Paye, award winning storyteller, artist, performer and children's book author visited Bugbee Elementary School for a five-day residency. First grade students learned about storytelling, African map knowledge, music and art. Won-Ldy shared museum-quality masks which served as inspiration for the students’ own creations, told stories from his home country of Liberia, and involved students in music making, collaborating to play 4-part rhythms with drums, bells and rattles from Africa. Parents and caregivers joined for the final day of his residency to observe and participate in making music

Young children can have big feelings. Every other week, the three pre-kindergarten classes at Webster Hill get to learn how to express those feelings, manage their emotions, and improve communication through music and movement.
