As we look back on the past year and ahead to 2025, we are grateful for your support. Because of you, we’ve been able to increase the amount of money we are donating to schools by $10,000 to $80,000. Thanks to your generosity, we funded 59 grants which have been or will be implemented in this school year. We’ve also started two new community traditions, our fall movie night and our Hearts and Smarts Trivia Challenge, scheduled for February 8th from 4:00-6:00 pm.

Click here to register your team of 4-8 people (recommended for ages 8 and up) for an afternoon of healthy competition, creative challenges, sweet treats, and family-friendly fun. West Hartford Public School’s own master storyteller, Matthew Dicks, will emcee the event! Register by January 20th to get free T-shirts!

West Hartford Administrators Association Grant: On The Road With A Pre-K Load

Would you want to touch a snake? Forty-eight pre-K students at Webster Hill not only got to touch a snake but also a rabbit, gecko, chicken, and toad. Thanks to the WHAA Grant, Christy Page from Westmoor Park brought these animals—and fascinating facts about them—to the delight of the students. They will also explore the natural world around them by taking trips to The Pickin’ Patch, Moscarillo’s Garden Shoppe, and Elizabeth Park. All these amazing trips and hands-on experiences will allow them to enhance language development, reinforce scientific concepts, and gain a stronger understanding—and appreciation—of the natural world around them.

MARCUM LLP Grant: CS Ambassadors 2.0

Conard High School’s Computer Science Ambassadors seek to ensure that everyone feels welcome in Computer Science. Through this grant, they were able to host CS Ambassador 2.0 for Bristow Middle School Students. This showcased a series of student-generated ideas to scale up toward district-wide impact, ensuring more students are excited to learn computer science and are better prepared in today’s world.
